On September 20th 2019, around 4 million youths across the globe marched against the Climate Crisis with one goal: to let the government and those in power know that the Earth Is On Fire. The Cristo Rey Delegation was among the 250,000 students at Battery Park who rallied and showed immense passion against the Climate Crisis. We were met by many performances by Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, Youth Director of Earth Guardians, Jaden and Willow Smith, artists that are against the Climate Crisis, and also, Greta Thunberg, a Swedish 16 year- old Climate Change Activist. All the Cristo Rey New York students agree that being in a passionate atmosphere was inspiring and truly eye opening. With such a direct attack on establishment beliefs, we believe that our voices can aid in solving many climate related issues we face today!
